New York, July 08, 2008 – Kwittken & Company (KCO), the intelligent communications agency, today announced that it has been selected by U.S. News & World Report, one of the nation’s leading sources of news analysis and service journalism, as its public relations agency of record.
KCO was initially hired in 2007 on a project basis, promoting the publication’s “America’s Best” series, including its Best Cars & Trucks, Best Leaders and Best High Schools issues. Based on U.S. News & World Report’s satisfaction with the media success of the various “best” projects, the publisher chose to retain KCO as its fulltime public relations agency.
As U.S. News & World Report transforms its business model from a publishing company focused on print publication to multi-platform digital publisher, KCO will support the newly launched U.S. News Media Group through a variety of tactics, including national and trade media relations, promotion of journalist experts in non-traditional print media and broadcast media as well as the direction of online traffic to its website through blogs and social media communications.
“We selected Kwittken & Company as our communication agents because they offered an impressive track record of working with brands in transition and truly understand the evolving media landscape,” said Brian Kelly, editor of U.S. News & World Report. “We value the communications guidance KCO is able to provide and, more importantly, the team is able to work closely with our in-house PR team to execute the campaign through national, trade and broadcast media to ensure we are reaching both readers and advertisers with the U.S. News message.”
“The ability to truly understand a media property from the inside out is valuable to any agency, specifically Kwittken & Company, where we leverage the unique media relations opportunities offered by both digital and print media channels,” said Aaron Kwittken, managing partner and CEO of Kwittken & Company. “As a 75-year-old media house that is changing the face of the publishing business model as we know it, the U.S. News Media Group is an ideal client partner as we work together to communicate the publisher’s industry leadership.”
