Kwittken & Company Appoints ABC News Alum, Patrick Doherty, As Managing Director
Former “Good Morning America” Producer to Bolster Firm’s Broadcast Expertise
NEW YORK, February 4, 2008 – Kwittken & Company, the intelligent communications agency, announced today that it has appointed Patrick Doherty as a managing director in the firm. A former ABC News producer and writer, Doherty will utilize his television expertise to support and expand the agency’s broadcast relationships as well as guide Kwittken & Company clients on broad media strategy development and execution.
Doherty comes to Kwittken & Company equipped with nearly a decade of experience at ABC News. He most recently served as a writer and producer for the network’s award-winning “Good Morning America” show. In addition, Doherty served as manager of ABC News’ affiliate service, where he directed editorial content, assigned correspondents to day-of-air coverage, coordinated satellite feeds and directed live shots. Doherty also acted as a coordinating producer for some of the decade’s foremost news stories, including the capture of Saddam Hussein, Hurricane Katrina, the death of Pope John Paul II and the 9/11 tragedy—the coverage of which earned Doherty and the team Peabody, DuPont and Emmy awards.
“We are so thrilled and honored to have Patrick on board,” said Jason Schlossberg, president and partner of Kwittken & Company. “As an agency that takes great pride in its media relationships, Patrick’s ‘insider’ understanding of, and access to, the national media will be of tremendous value to our clients and staff.”
Doherty is also a member of the Democratic Leadership for the 21st Century, the Writers Guild of America and the United States Equestrian Federation. A passionate equestrian, Doherty collaborated with the iconic shoe designer Manolo Blahnik to launch an equestrian boot line in 2006 and is the founder of one of the Web’s most popular equestrian blogs.
