KCO Adds Staff to Expand Financial, Technology, Social Media and Editorial Capabilities

Draws Top Talent from Liquidnet and Chubb

NEW YORK, March 11, 2009 – Kwittken & Company (KCO), the intelligent communications agency, today announced that it is bucking the trend of industry workforce cuts and has added new talent to expand its expertise in financial services, technology, editorial and social media services. KCO is adding Jim Gorman, former head of public relations of Liquidnet, as a managing director; Russell Weigandt, former communications specialist for Chubb, as a senior account executive in Editorial Services, and Will Nikosey as an account executive in the company’s technology and social media practice.

Gorman, who is tasked with growing KCO’s Financial Services practice, recently worked as the head of public relations for Liquidnet, an electronic marketplace that facilities institutional equities trading for asset management firms worldwide. While there Gorman spearheaded U.S. media relations, managed the firm’s global network of PR firms and achieved an industry share of media voice double the company’s closest competitor. Jim has also served in key communications leadership roles at DWS Scudder, Prudential Financial and GCI Group.

Weigandt will support a wide range of business-to-business accounts—ranging from healthcare to technology, education and financial services—and will help to build out KCO’s editorial department. Prior to KCO, Weigandt worked for four years as a communications specialist at the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, one of the world’s largest property and casualty insurance companies, where he supported the company’s internal and external communications programs. In addition, Russell graduated from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications with a master’s degree in journalism.

Nikosey joined as an account executive, to help support KCO’s growing technology PR practice. Prior to KCO, Nikosey provided extensive account support on a broad range of technology and business-to-business clients for a variety of PR firms and played an integral role developing their social media programs.

“We’re pleased and fortunate to be in a position to grow our staff during this challenging economic environment, drawing top talent from both respected corporations and public relations firms,” said Aaron Kwittken, KCO founder and CEO. “Not only will Jim, Russell and William enable us to better serve our current clients, they will help us to expand our capabilities and support or new business endeavors.”
