Edward Nebb
Managing Director, Investor Relations
Ed has more than 25 years experience as an IR advisor to clients ranging from small cap companies to the Fortune 500. He has assisted clients with IPOs and follow-on offerings: material disclosure issues, M&A and other financial transactions, buy-side and sell-side outreach, and a range of crisis situations. Ed’s domestic and international clients have included: AIG, American Eagle Outfitters, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Conseco, Diana Shipping, D&B, Gartner, Gucci, Ingersoll-Rand, L-3 Communications, Monster Worldwide, National Re, Prudential Insurance, Resources Global, Reuters, RJR-Nabisco, Saks Fifth Avenue, Take-Two Interactive and Toshiba.
Prior to his affiliation with Kwittken & Company Ed ran IR and financial communications practices for Euro RSCG Magnet, Hawthorn Group and BSMG Worldwide. Earlier, he was a partner in the investor relations firm Morgen-Walke Associates. Ed began his career as corporate communications, investor relations and community reinvestment officer for a New Jersey banking institution upon his graduation from Yale University in 1978.
Karen Marotta
Senior Vice President
Over the past decade, Karen has specialized in providing targeted business-to-business public relations counsel to professional and financial services companies. Karen focuses on strategic media relations and has placed past clients in media outlets such as Financial Times, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones, CNBC, Associated Press, and The New York Times.
Prior to joining Kwittken & Company, Karen served as Vice President at financial public relations firm MacMillan Communications. In this role, Karen led media coverage efforts for investment bank Robert W. Baird, law firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, consultancy Accretive Solutions, as well as ING Clarion and FAF Advisors / First American Funds. During her seven years at MacMillan, Karen played an instrumental role in raising visibility for legitimate home-based call center work provider Arise Virtual Solutions, putting the term “homeshoring” on the map with placements in The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, BBC, Good Morning America, Businessweek, NPR, Reuters, The New York Times, Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune and multiple broadcast affiliates.
Prior to joining MacMillan Communications, Karen worked with banking and financial technology clients at Intermarket Communications, a boutique financial PR firm in New York. Karen provided PR counsel to various international clients, including the Swiss Bankers Association, Bank Julius Baer and Axiss Australia, the financial services division of Invest Australia.
Karen began her career at Boston-based Kelly Habib John / KHJ Public Relations helping to launch high-technology companies into the marketplace, including B2B and marketing automation service providers.
Karen received her BA in Communication from the State University of New York College at Geneseo, where she served as program manager of radio station WGSU-FM.
Karen resides in Manhattan with her husband James.
Russell Weigandt
Account Supervisor
Russell Weigandt joined Kwittken & Company in June 2008 and supports a variety of accounts ranging from healthcare to retail, education and technology companies. In addition to his general account management responsibilities, Russell supports Kwittken & Company primarily by serving as a member of its editorial services team.
Prior to Kwittken, Russell worked as a communications specialist for the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, one of the nation’s largest property and casualty insurance companies. While there, he supported a number of communications functions, including public relations, internal communications and executive communications. In his public relations role, Russell promoted the Chubb Charity Challenge, the company’s annual charity golf tournament, and ghostwrote numerous articles to demonstrate the industry expertise of senior Chubb executives in insurance and financial trade publications. His work has been published in Best’s Review, Insurance Journal, National Underwriter, Investment Advisor, Financial Adviser, InvestmentNews, The Personal Digest and Personal Finance. He also wrote and managed the weekly internal newsletter, which is distributed to all of Chubb’s employees worldwide. In addition to providing executives with communications counsel and support, he wrote marketing materials, several business unit publications, advertorials, annual report F.O.B. features and profiles, executive speeches and corporate strategy documents.
Russell holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Boston College and a Master’s Degree in journalism from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
William Nikosey
Senior Account Executive
Will provides strategic media relations, idea generation and strong research support to both the corporate and consumer practice areas of Kwittken & Company. Constantly surveying the media landscape, his “nose for news” has resulted in countless media placements in a diverse array of media outlets including CNBC, USA Today, Entrepreneur, The Deal, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Thrillist, Urban Daddy, FOX Business News, AM New York among others.
In addition to deep traditional media expertise and experience, Will is also firmly entrenched in the social media community and working closely with many of the Agency’s clients to develop and execute, smart, relevant and authentic social media strategies.
Will started his career in public relations early through high-profile internships while still pursuing his bachelor’s degree in communications at Seton Hall University. Will supported the account teams at Taylor and Catalyst Public Relations, providing media relations and research support for Xbox, IronMan Triathlon, Accelerade, Reebok and NOPI Drag Racing.
Before joining Kwittken & Company, Will also worked at Daddi Brand Communications, planning and executing business building marketing and communications campaigns for Cotton, Inc., French Tuesday’s, ChinaOneCall and New York Spring Water.
William currently resides in Jersey City, NJ.
Shivani Mahtani
Senior Account Executive
Shivani Mahtani has spent the last four years as a communications professional based in New York and Singapore. Shivani joined Kwittken & Company in early 2010 and works on wide variety of B2C and B2B accounts.
Prior to joining Kwittken & Company, she worked as a PR consultant for fashion and luxury clients, coordinating their day-to-day activities including media relations, managing their speakers’ bureau, and coordinating publicity events. Clients included Arcadia Group’s Topshop, Chopard USA and 90+ Cellars (a wine merchant), among others. Shivani has also worked within the Corporate Communications and Consumer Marketing practices of Weber Shandwick Worldwide, assisting in managing communication efforts globally for one of the agency’s largest clients, MasterCard Worldwide. While at Weber Shandwick, she also worked closely with the external relations team at SK-II – the first Japanese prestige skincare line within the P&G Beauty portfolio to create and support the brand’s global network capability.
Before her career in public relations, Shivani was a freelance writer at The Straits Times, the main English-language daily newspaper in Singapore, contributing to its business and lifestyle pages.
Shivani graduated from Murdoch University, Western Australia with a double major in Marketing and Media, and a minor in Business Law.
Nazlı Ekim
Senior Account Executive
Nazlı Ekim joined Kwittken & Co. in March 2010 as a Senior Account Executive and works with many of the agency’s technology, clean tech and media clients.
Prior to joining Kwittken, she was at Gutenberg Communications, where she played an integral role in developing and executing successful media relations campaigns for a variety of B2B, technology and social media clients. Her efforts resulted in media placements throughout key industry trade and business publications such as Forbes, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Businessweek among others.
Nazlı started her career in public relations with SSPR, a mid size technology public relations firm in Chicago. At SSPR, Nazlı worked with award winning clients such as WildCharge which was picked as one of Time Magazine’s “top 100 inventions” in 2007. Her other clients included MyMobileWatchdog – a cell phone technology which helps parents track predators; TvTrip.com- a web 2.0 travel site which lets visitors virtually visit the hotel before they check in; and Tersano- a kitchen gadget that transforms water into ozone technology were among her clients.
In addition to orchestrating media relations efforts, Nazlı is also experienced at managing press events, trade shows and media tours, developing written collateral on behalf of clients, conducting media audits and research, and developing relationships with influencers in the blogosphere and in traditional media.
Winner of “Top Tech Communicator” award from PR Source Code in 2007, Nazlı holds a B.A. from Columbia College, Chicago and a Masters of Management from Northpark University.
